Working together |
As America ages, more and more organizations are pursuing programs of research, care, education and public policy. The American Coalition on Aging (ACA) seeks to help these organizations with one of their critical tasks – raising sufficient money to address the increasingly pressing needs of older people and their families. Tax exempt ourselves, ACA's focus its efforts on helping other charitable groups qualify for workplace giving campaigns. A vast, often arcane world that may be overlooked by even experienced fundraisers, workplace fundraising is an excellent way to connect with new donors, increase awareness, and expand financial support. ACA targets campaigns in the public sector, especially the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the world’s largest workplace fundraising drive. Each year, more than 1.3 million federal employees – military and civilian – donate a quarter billion dollars to eligible not-for-profit groups through the CFC. ACA will participate in the CFC as a “federation” – an umbrella organization – that will dramatically increase the visibility of its members. This heightened visibility is a great advantage, and to date, there has been no such federation for charities that serve the disabled. |
